Current projects

  • Improma supports student short film project

Monique Marmodee and Julia Wartmann’s short film project addresses the issue of shame, and has been accepted in the 19th WDR film competition. The film’s concept and script caught our attention, and compelled us to support the enthusiastic students by supplying film technology and production staff.

  • Improma produces short feature film “Der Brüder Neid” – “Brothers’ Envy”

This film is the dissertation project of director Karsten Prühl, who also wrote the script.
It tells the true story of Karsten’s grandfather, and is set in 1944 near the German town of Eisenach.
MDM, the Mitteldeutsche Filmförderung, supported the project by co-financing it with the donation of 25,000 EUR.  The shooting was done in Saxony-Anhalt in October.
“Brothers’ Envy” has been accepted in the short film competition at the Berlinale Film Festival 2009.

  • "Emotion Surveillee - The Dark Files"/ dance film
    Idea / choreography: Karsten Steinmetz
    film realisation: Daniel Krüger
    camera: Daniel Krüger
    editing: Daniel Schulz

"Emotion Surveillee - The Dark Files" is a critical discussion of today’s cultural scene. Karsten Steinmetz, an artist from Magdeburg, interpreted several chapters of recent cultural politics that warrant comment and criticism and translated them into a dramatic choreography.
IMPROMA sponsored the film equipment for the realisation of this convincing concept – from full HD camera and dolly to the editing suite. At the same time, several producers and technicians from our team oversaw the filming process to ensure that, in the event of unexpected delay or difficulty, specialists were at hand for immediate consultation.
